At a time when anxiety and school-related distress are increasing for children and teenagers across Dublin, former Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) clinician James Callaghan is bringing calm, clear and practical mental-health support directly into family homes.
James now hosts a weekly 15-minute mental-health segment on Phoenix FM (92.5 FM) as part of D15 Today, airing live every Friday at 11.20am. The segment offers accessible, evidence-based guidance grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents and parents.
Each episode focuses on practical strategies for managing anxiety, OCD, panic attacks, emotional regulation and emotion-based school avoidance (school refusal). Upcoming programmes also feature specialist guests with CAMHS experience, exploring topics such as ADHD, autism, neurodiversity and behaviour.
The aim of the Phoenix FM segment is simple: to help families access reliable mental-health tools earlier, before difficulties become overwhelming—bridging the gap between everyday challenges and formal mental-health services.
